It's so close to scratching that itch... Are there any plans to allow for systems that include player chosen Attribute allocation? Right now with Attributes being locked to Race and Class, it's pretty restrictive.
Hey! Thanks for the interest! I don't have plans to launch on Steam at the moment due to the costs involved. For now, Grimory is available on itch.io which allows me to keep developing without the upfront fees. But I'm definitely keeping Steam in mind for the future as the project grows! If you purchase here on itch.io, you'll get all future updates included.
Thanks for the clear answer, Natte! I totally understand the choice, itch.io is a great platform for indie devs. That makes sense. I’ve decided to grab it here to support the project anyway. Looking forward to seeing Grimory grow!
Just a quick follow-up: if you do end up launching on Steam later on, would you consider providing Steam keys to itch.io buyers?
Either way, happy New Year and keep up the great work!
EDIT : done, i'm looking forward to give it a try.
If it ends up going to Steam, I'd definitely want to give keys to the people who supported it here first. Can't make any promises yet since I'm not sure if/when that'll happen, but if it does, you'd be covered for sure.
Awesome, thanks for the tips! I’ll go with the Setup.exe to keep it simple.
And thanks for being so cool about the Steam keys, it’s great to know you’ve got our backs ^_^ , but I’m honestly just happy to support the game here for now.
That's a great suggestion! I was actually already planning on adding dice probabilities in an upcoming update. Thanks for the purchase and the feedback!
hi, It's a great program for me, but there seem to be some issues. Nothing happened when I clicked the 'Add New Formula' button. another problem is : if I use this formula "100 * (level ^ 1.5 + level)" to calculate the XP, it seems like to return incorrect values.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm already working on fixing the 'Add New Formula' button issue. I also found a problem with how custom formulas like yours are being parsed, and I'm correcting it as well. An update will be available very soon!

This is super cool! I'd love to see a tab that allows the creation of characters, with the ability to assign race, class, skills, and inventory items!
Are you planning to have this on steam please? If we buy from here, do we get a steam key later ?

Happy New Year, by the way! 🎆🎉🎲😊

Grimory-1.9.3-win.zip
Grimory.Setup.exe
Which one should I install, please? Or it doesn't matter?
I’m on Windows 11 (64-bit).

About the files - both work on Windows 11 64-bit:
Setup.exe = runs installer, picks folder, installs everything
zip file = extract anywhere and just run it directly
Setup.exe is probably easier but both do the same thing in the end. Whatever works best for you!
Thanks for picking it up btw, really appreciate it!

Can’t wait to start using it. Have a great one!
I'm thinking about buying this. Are you able to load your own pictures of characters/items etc?
Yes! Absolutely.
The Grimory fully supports custom images. You can load your own pictures for character portraits, item icons, and more to customize your system.
Sold! Thanks for the quick reply! :)
It would be awesome if you included dice probabilities. Just purchased this, can't wait to try it for my upcoming project!
